This year marks the start of a journey to take chess to new heights with this maiden tournament that is the first of its kind.
With Mr. Sanya Derrick and Mr. Migabo Fred of chessnmusic.com at the helm of the organising committee, you can only expect a spectacular event.
Chessnmusic.com is offering a 1 year subscription to all players that compete in this event. They will be able to access premium chess trainings as well as never seen before music lessons.
In the spirit of rewarding hard work and ensuring fair distribution of prizes, we’ve also included a bounty of 25,000 ugx to whoever is able to win a game against WIM Sana Omprakash Kayyar , FM Wanyama Harold, FM Nsubuga Haruna, CM Egesa Emmanuel, Mr Mukose Emmanuel and FM Bob Bibasa.
As an extra, our hosts, the management of Gloria gardens and SOM Chess Academy sponsored a cage match between our 2026 National champion Mr Nyola Wasswa Mark and International Master Arthur Ssegwanyi.
This is to celebrate the completion of a newly constructed chess hall called The Gloria gardens chess arena.We are going to give a male chess player the title of Mr Chessnmusic 2026. A female chess player will also get the title of Mrs Chessnmusic 2026.These people will be our brand ambassadors so the names will come with huge prizes.Players will be shortisted for a main event at the end of the year to find these exceptional individuals.
We will be using the grand prix format starting with this tournament so players are encouraged to come early so they can pick up points in time.The entrance to the venue is on the main road in namugongo close to the Uganda Martyrs catholic basilica in namugongo and visible on google maps.
